Our Green Memo
What we do for our environment

We strive to do all we can to ensure we operate sustainably through our sourcing, waste management and packaging usage and are committed to minimising negative impacts on the environment in how we operate.

We have worked on a number of Albert certified productions and continue to implement these principles in all areas of our business.

 

Waste

  • All waste can be split by the catering team into food, general and recycling when the relevant bins are provided by production.
  • Used cooking oil is returned to be recycled.

Packaging

  • Our meals are served in fully compostable/biodegradable packaging sourced from Enviropack and Ambican, this includes cutlery which is made from corn starch. These items are all fully compostable/biodegradable and comply with EN13432 the European standard for compostability.
  • Where-ever feasible we will re-introduce re-useable crockery and cutlery and encourage cast and crew to use re-useable cups for hot and cold drinks.
  • We source food from local markets which avoids excess plastic packaging.

Food

  • We source locally where possible to help minimise carbon emissions and support local businesses.
  • We source food that is in season and our dishes are all homemade, so we know exactly what makes up each dish.
  • All meat used is British to avoid unnecessary product transport and harmful emissions as a result.
  • We can use free-range eggs (where productions cover any additional cost).
  • We source sustainable fish where possible and try to use fish rated 1-3 on the Marine Conservation Society’s Good Fish Guide.
  • Our daily menu will always contain vegan and plant-based dishes.
  • We can offer meat free days if required.
